Vision:
All students at Statesville High School are uniquely talented learners who will graduate and meet the state of North Carolina graduation requirements. We are committed to providing a comprehensive counseling program to all students to ensure they are able to compete in the 21st century learners. Statesville High School student services department will promote collaboration between school counselors, administration, staff, students, parents/guardians and community stakeholders to ensure the needs and goals of every student are met, students complete high school and are college or career ready.
Mission:
Statesville High School student services department mission is to instill academic achievement and social emotional development in all of our students. Our major role is to provide proactive, comprehensive and developmentally appropriate programs to address students’ academic and career goals in addition to supporting their personal, social and emotional needs. The way to accomplish these goals is through partnerships with parents/guardians, staff and community stakeholders to ensure all students become successful, productive citizens and lifelong learners in a diverse and changing world.

NCSSM and UNC-Charlotte are hosting a joint Admissions presentation at UNC-Charlotte with a light dinner. Please share this flyer with your 10th grade students who might be interested in attending NCSSM. Please have them register as it is a limited event.
The Gifted Department will offer a Learn and Lead virtual session geared towards high school students on Tuesday, November 9th. The virtual session will begin at 6:00pm and will be presented by the College Board. Michelle Lourcey will join us from our College Board partnership to share information on how the College Board can support you as you prepare for your future after high school and beyond.

High School Juniors Invited to Apply to Serve on Student Advisory Council
Current high school juniors interested in state education issues, advocating on behalf of fellow peers, and serving as an advisor to decision-makers in K-12 education are invited to apply for Superintendent Truitt's Student Advisory Council.
Advisory members meet monthly and serve a two-year term that concludes at the end of their senior year of high school. At the conclusion of each year, advisors will present a proposal to address an evolving state education issue to the Superintendent among other state leaders.
